I lived in Lockport since I was in 3rd grade. Since then, I have strived to be a teacher like her. My senior year math teacher, who also was my high school volleyball coach, inspired me to want to teach math. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school, though, that I decided that I wanted to teach high school math. My mom was an elementary school teacher and I have always loved working with kids. Did you see yourself working for a school when you were younger?Īs long as I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher.Since then I have also attended Olivet Nazarene University where I obtained a master’s degree in Educational Leadership degree, as well as, a second master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I attended Illinois State University for my undergrad degree. I worked at Central Campus for 16 years and have been at East Campus the past 3 years. I was hired as a brand new teacher and have been here since. This is my 19th year working at Lockport. How many years have you worked at Lockport?.I currently teach IM2 and Math 2 Plus but have also taught IM1 and IM1 Honors. I am a teacher in the mathematics department.
